DISEASES IN WILDLIFE

One of the main reasons for managing wildlife in Ireland is to halt the spread of certain diseases that our wildlife carry into our farmed animals.

Here are two recent reports, the first outlines examples of diseases that wildlife carry and the second discusses the impact of diseases transmitted from wild animals to commercially farmed animals:

Dr. Ronan O’Neill (Senior Veterinary Research Officer) in Department of Agriculture will facilitate us in the testing of samples taken from wildlife.
